Role Assignment for the Project Management Module

To work with the Project Management module, a user must be assigned a module role.

Roles are assigned by a system administrator in the user's profile.

Assigning a role is required for users who will create projects, manage them, or work with project templates.

How to assign a role to a user

  1. Go to Administration → Users.
  2. Open the profile of the required user.
  3. On the right side of the screen, find the Project Management section.
  4. Select one or more roles.
  5. Save the changes.

Available module roles

The Project Management module includes three roles.

Module Administrator

A user with the Module Administrator role has the highest level of access in the module.

The role allows the user to:

  • work with all workspaces and projects in the system;
  • create and edit workspaces;
  • create, edit, and delete projects;
  • work with project templates and standard project plans;
  • view project analytics and reports.

This role is intended for users responsible for configuring and maintaining project management.

Project Manager

A user with the Project Manager role works with projects within the scope of their assigned permissions.

The role allows the user to:

  • create workspaces and projects;
  • edit projects in which the user participates;
  • work with project templates;
  • view project analytics and reports.

A project manager works only with the projects they have access to.

Project Participant

A user with the Project Participant role takes part in projects to which they have been added.

The role allows the user to:

  • view projects;
  • open project cards and the project plan.

This role is intended for users who do not manage project settings.

Important to consider

If a user is not assigned any role, the Project Management module will not be available to them. Module roles are assigned only to users who work with projects and their configuration.

Executors assigned to specific stages or tasks within a project plan can complete tasks and inspections in the Tasks and Inspections modules without being assigned a Project Management module role and without having access to the projects.
